‘Future generations may grow up surrounded by high-level generated output from the beginning. Their baseline expectations will form at levels that previously required exceptional effort’

i think this is what’s going to be most interesting to me. seeing a generation grow up with these tools is going to change who they are. it’s a social experiment we’re committed to without knowing the outcome.

Thanks Chris! Absolutely this is one of the most interesting topics to me as well, we already see how recent generations grew up with the internet, not knowing a world before it (I honestly miss those times, tony hawk pro skater 2 days). In my opinion AI will have a much larger impact and at a much faster pace than the internet, and I agree 100% the outcome is unimaginable.

You may also check out the Kano model.

Many product features start as delighters and end up being basic expectations.

Indeed, AI may be accelerating this.

I will definitely check out the Kano model, thank you Jurgen! And I agree, AI is accelerating basic expectations on a daily basis, it is incredible to say the least.

When we say "Nothing Feels Amazing" and at the same time previous posts surrounding AI talk about the loss of critical thinking skills, are we all looking to assign blame? Are we blindly commenting or is AI blindly commenting about these things on our behalf? I think we are in a very interesting and transitional time.

Personally, these things still feel amazing for what is happening. What we are all able to achieve partnering with AI tools is still "Amazing" to think about and imagine today and into the future. What I think is critical is that second point we continue to whisper - no SHOUT - we cannot, ourselves, lose the ability to think critically. Humans must possess critical thinking ability. To read something, think about what it means in context with something else and the universe of information and ideas as a whole. What is real, what will become real, and what will be made real as a result of being posted as an imaginative idea? That is amazing to see.

Thanks for your insight Hedy! I am not looking to assign blame, everyone’s experience with AI is their own experience as an individual. I do agree though we are indeed in a very interesting and transitional time and that in it of itself is amazing. What I am referring to when I say “Nothing Feels Amazing” is the lack of delayed gratification in the modern world. I also agree we must hold on to our critical thinking abilities, so thank you for mentioning that as well!
