Why Fairness Quietly Disappeared

Waiting used to mean something.

You waited your turn.
You waited in line.
You waited because everyone else did too.

Now you do not. Or rather, the system does not let you.

AI systems increasingly decide who gets served first, who gets skipped, and who waits indefinitely. Not based on order, but on value, risk, optimization, and prediction. The queue still exists. It just no longer belongs to people.

Most of us notice this only when we keep waiting while someone else moves ahead without explanation.
