Stacked Intelligence
Internet, AI, Robotics
We tend to talk about technology like separate revolutions.
The internet revolution.
The AI revolution.
The robotics revolution.
But that framing misses something important.
These are not separate waves.
They are layers.
Each one sits on top of the last. Each one expands what the previous layer makes possible.
Internet built the global nervous system.
AI built the cognitive layer.
Robotics is building the physical layer.
In simple terms:
AI is the brain.
Robotics is the body.
And the moment the body catches up to the brain, the real transformation begins.
I’ve been saying for a while that robotics might not be advancing fast enough to keep pace with AI. Especially when it comes to the trades. Electricians. Contractors. Physical skilled work.
But the more we look at what’s actually happening, the more that assumption deserves revisiting.
Because once you understand technology as stacked layers, you start to see something different.
Robotics does not need to advance alone.
It advances on top of AI.
And AI is accelerating fast enough to pull the physical world with it.
