When people hear the word recession, they picture layoffs.
Empty offices.
Hiring freezes.
Bad headlines.
I don’t think that’s what the first AI recession looks like.
In fact, I think it’s already here.
People still have jobs.
Companies are still shipping.
Markets are still moving.
But something is off.
Confidence is thinning.
Careers feel shakier even when nothing “bad” has happened.
Effort feels less connected to outcome.
This isn’t a recession you can point to on a chart.
It’s a recession you feel.
